How to play
Choose a puzzle and select an empty letter cell. The clue and answer direction are highlighted in the grid. Enter letters with your device keyboard; at crossings, the same letter belongs to both answers. Drag to move the board, pinch to zoom and use the fit control for a complete view.
What is Integrame?
Integrame is a collection of authentic arrowword puzzles inspired by the format found in Romanian puzzle magazines. Every clue sits inside the grid and points directly towards its answer. Letters shared by an across and a down answer meet in the same cell, so each solved word helps unlock another part of the page.
This proof of concept contains twenty original, static puzzles in Romanian and English. The two language catalogues are authored independently because a natural clue, answer length and crossing pattern rarely survive translation intact.
How to play
Choose a puzzle from the library and tap any empty letter cell. Integrame highlights the complete answer path, its clue cell and the arrow that connects them. Enter letters with a physical keyboard or the on-screen keyboard. Selecting the same crossing again switches between its across and down answers.
Large puzzles keep their natural dimensions instead of shrinking to fit the screen. Drag the board to move around it, pinch to zoom, or use the dedicated zoom controls. Fit returns to the full-page overview, while Centre brings the active answer back into view.
Your work is saved locally after every meaningful change. You can leave a puzzle and continue it later from the library.
Solving tips
- Start with short, direct clues. They create reliable crossing letters for the more playful definitions.
- Follow intersections. A single confirmed letter can narrow several answers at once.
- Read the arrow before typing. Clues begin horizontally or vertically, and a clue cell may contain more than one definition.
- Use the overview when you feel lost, then centre the answer you want to continue.
- Keep checks and reveals for genuine dead ends. A clean solve records that you completed the page without assistance.
Romanian and English puzzles
Romanian puzzles accept the familiar Romanian letter forms and display authentic Romanian clues. English puzzles use British English editorial conventions. The interface language and puzzle language are separate, so you can keep the controls familiar while solving in either catalogue.
Accessibility
Every camera gesture has a button equivalent. The grid supports keyboard navigation, visible focus, named controls and an expanded clue view for definitions that are too small to read comfortably inside a cell. Motion follows the device's reduced-motion preference.
FAQ
Are the puzzles generated while I play?
No. Every published grid, clue, answer and intersection is stored with the game and validated before release. Runtime generation is not part of the solving experience.
Do I need to finish a puzzle in one sitting?
No. Integrame saves your current letters and progress locally so you can continue later.
Can I play without pinch gestures?
Yes. Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit and Centre provide complete camera control with touch, mouse or keyboard.
Is Integrame free?
Yes. It runs directly in your browser with no download or sign-up required.
