Who we are
Play Right Here is an independent project. The operator of playrighthere.com is the controller of the personal data described on this page and can be reached at privacy@playrighthere.com.
What we collect
Play works without an account. When you first play a game we create an anonymous player profile (a random identifier) so your scores, XP and streaks can be saved. If you choose to sign in with Google, we additionally store your name and email address as provided by Google.
Game data
We store your scores, play sessions, achievements and leaderboard entries. Display names appear on public leaderboards; you can change your display name at any time in settings.
Analytics
We measure traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device and cannot follow you across other websites. Visitors are counted through a short-lived hash derived from the request and discarded after 24 hours, so we only ever see aggregated figures such as page views, country, browser and device type. Addresses that contain a player name or a challenge code are masked before the measurement is sent. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Advertising
Play currently shows no advertising. If ads are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated beforehand and consent will be requested where required.
Why we may use your data
Creating your player profile, saving your progress and running leaderboards and duels is the service you asked us for, so we rely on performing that service. Measuring traffic in aggregate and protecting the platform against cheating and abuse rest on our legitimate interest in keeping Play working and making it better. If we ever add advertising, or analytics that follow you, we will ask for your consent first and you will be free to say no.
Who else handles it
Hosting and traffic measurement are provided by Vercel. Sign-in and the databases that hold your scores are provided by Google through Firebase, and the game database is located in the European Union. Signing in and serving the site can still involve processing outside the EEA, which is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Data retention & deletion
Detailed game results are automatically deleted after 90 days. Anonymous accounts inactive for more than 30 days may be removed together with their data. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable form. An email to privacy@playrighthere.com is enough and it costs you nothing. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to your national data protection authority; in Romania that is ANSPDCP (anspdcp.ro).
Children
Play is a general audience games site and is not directed at children under 16. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before creating a profile or signing in.
